Why would you like to attend college? Discuss your career and personal goals. Are there any particular circumstances, school experiences, or persons that influenced your preparation or motivation to attend college (e.g., cultural/financial background, family, teachers, schools you attended)? Please explain. I would like to attend college becouse I have always motivated myself to succeed in life as well as education. I have always tried making my parents proud becouse they have worked so hard to allow me to continue my studies and achieve all my personal goals. I have always loved fitness training and I have even train several students to help them achieve their physical and athletic goals. I have set a goal to graduate college with a degree in Kinesiology.
Briefly discuss your academic background. Did you utilize any additional support at your high school, such as tutoring? Do your grades in high school and/or college reflect your academic ability or potential? In High School, I worked very hard to keep my grades up. I have always been determined to pass all my classes and even try to go for that extra credit. Many teachers and friends have motivated to put my heart into my education since education is the path to a better future. Along with my hard work and good grades I have faced challenges balancing work, sports, and school and have made the best out of all three. I am very determined and have been successful in all aspects of my life.
Briefly describe your family's economic background. Include information about your financial challenges. My father is a packer at a local packing house. My father earns a very minimum salary. My mother stays at home in order to raise my two younger siblings. In order to help cover household bills, I have taken on a part time job at McDonald's in Lindsay, CA. Part of my motivation to attend college is to help break the cycle of financial challenges for myself and my family. Even though I am experiencing financial hardship at this time, I am confident that my future will provide enough financial stability in order to provide for my family.
Please tell us more about yourself. Is there any additional information you would like EOP to consider in determining your admission to the program? I come from a farming community where a University education is last on most people's minds. Therefore, I am very motivated to change this academic drought in my community by attending your campus in the Fall. I am known by my family and teachers to be independent and self-directed. I work hard on any task and hand. It is important to me that I complete my commitments to their end. While I possess an excellent work ethic, I do find it very helpful when I can be supported in areas I find challenging. One challenging area in academics that I face is Math. I am not afraid of asking for help when needed. I realize that EOP provides tutors and academic advising and hope that I can take full advantage of these resources.
